This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Rudolf Fischer Rudolf was a Corporal in the Artillery and was awarded the Eastern Front medal, the Crimean Shield, Romanian Orders (not listed), Kuban Shield, and a Wound Badge.
