Model: Machete >--> Condition: Very Good - Very Good Plus Blade Length: 14.50" TEXT GOES HERETEXT GOES HERE --> Offered here is a WWII Australian machete knife. Scabbard is NOT included. They were typically issued with canvas sheaths later on in the war. Earlier versions had the leather sheath. Two companies manufactured these, both Marsden and Die Casters. It is possible they were manufactured by the same factory - Lysaght Works Ltd. Division. Overall, this machete is in Very Good - Very Good Plus condition. The three rivets securely fasten the checkered grips. They have light wear along the edges. The grip panels have distinct checkering. There are light scattered scrapes and compressions on both panels. The spine and sides have light handling marks with scattered oxidation and finish loss. There are no nicks or dings on the blade edge and it appears to have its original factory edge. The tip is intact and comes to a sharp straight point. Most of the remaining finish has started to change to a darker patina. There is a cord tied inside the lanyard rivet. The ends are tied in a knot and the ends are intact. The left side of the blade towards the tip is marked "D", broad arrow, "D" / "DC-45". Scabbard is NOT included. This machete will be a great addition to your Australian WWII collection, or a machete collection in general. As with all used items, a light cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.
