Description: Listed is an original WWI US officer's wool overcoat. It's olive drab in color and the darker pictures shown are closer than the lighter ones. This is one of the larger original US WWI officer's overcoats I've seen. Please look at my measurements and compare them to yours. It has nicer & finer features than the enlisted overcoat. The material is smoother & not as rough. It's fully lined. The buttons are much larger & expensive looking. It still has it's original detachable triangle (neck) warmer. Two scalloped front pockets with access to trouser pockets. two pockets in the front (along with watch-pocket) & two in back. The top clasp is still functional. The overall condition is good. There's several moth-holes to consider (shown) which is expected for an item over 100-years old. There's some moth-holes in the liner (shown), top left breast (shown) which can be covered once coat is buttoned, a row towards the bottom (shown) as well as one or two on each sleeve. The armpits also show some wear (shown). Overall it does not detract from the overall appearance, gives it a Wester Front in the trenches look & will make you stand out from the rest. Due to the large size box & the heavy weight, the most economical way of shipping is USPS Retail Ground (2-9 days) at $49.95. This may not be an item for a collector of mint items but this is a rare opportunity to own a large original historic uniform that you can actually wear! This item is perfect for someone who does living history, school presentations, etc. Don't bother with cheap flimsy reproductions made in Pakistan when you can wear the real thing. There's no way a tailor could make this item today at this price with this very heavy weight wool & with all of the original details.
