Description: You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a WW2 USMC / US Navy Type NAF 1092 Leather Summer Flight Helmet & Earphones! This was used by most pilots and navigators in the early stages of the war.Made of goatskin/leather, the NAF 1092 was the standard issue flying helmet for US naval aviators and Marine Corps pilots between 1937 and 1943. It featured a fleece lined chin cup, and was able to utilize the TH-37 earphones. Made of a dark brown leather, this flight helmet is in EXCELLENT used condition. The leather is still VERY soft and flexible, however there are some marks, wear, and stains due to the age. The earphones are present, but I believe they are post-war additions. The often-missing chin cup is present, however, and is original to this helmet! Clearly marked with the manufacture label, however the size tag has faded. It appears to Medium or Large in size.
