Description: The Grand Antique Mall, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, presents a WW II (1939-45) Japanese army INKEN CANDLE LAMP hand held field signal light.【隠顕燈】Inken military lanterns were portable lighting equipment that used candles as a light source and were taken onto the battlefield. The lantern has a detachable cover with 3 lenses: 1 red, 1 green, 1 clear. The carrying handle is covered in woven bamboo. A 6 inch metal stick on the bottom also serves as a holder. Undoing a few clips, the lantern can turn into a smaller, more portable hand held lantern. Original string is still attached to the pin. Fine example of the WWII Japanese Inken military lantern. Perfect for collectors. DIMENSIONS: 22”H (including upper handle) x 7.5” x 6.5”. Lens cover diameter=6.5”. Metal handle length=6”. WT=5 lbs. CONDITION: Very Good +. All lenses present and unbroken. All clips and pins work well. No breaks, cracks, or repairs. The lantern has not been cleaned; that choice is left to the buyer. Note: Compared to similar Inken lamps, it appears that a tiny metal cap, for catching candle wax, is no longer present. QUESTIONS? Please leave a message and we’ll promptly reply.
