Description: You are bidding on a VERY NICE example of a WW2 German Wehrmacht Close Combat Trench Knife! It comes complete with the original scabbard! As bayonets were typically long and heavy, some soldiers ended up privately purchasing various styles of hunting knives. Throughout WW2, numerous manufactures produced these types of knives, available for both private purchase and military issue. Made of wood and steel, this mid-war German Combat Fighting Knife is in GOOD condition considering it's age. The blade does show some marks, stains, and wear, but nothing that detracts. The veteran added some tape at both ends of the handle. Not sure if this was for extra grip, or if the wood has split. The scabbard is included, and is original to this knife. Would make a SUPERB addition to any collection or display!
