Description: This WW2 British Army No. 4 Mk. II* Enfield Spike Bayonet & Scabbard is in good, clean condition and only shows mild signs of age and service. The bayonet is clearly marked with it's model designation, maker's hallmark "L. ENG" and dispersal code "S376." These markings indicate production was carried out by the Lewisham Engineering Company of London. Of particular interest, the Lewisham Engineering Company was the smallest manufacturer of this model bayonet, completing less than 85,00 between 1943 and 1945. The pointed blade is clean though expected evidence of age and storage are detectable. A significant amount of what appears to be original black finish is still present. All hardware appears to function as you would expect. The No. 4 Mk. I scabbard is in very good, clean condition and functions exactly as you would expect. The alloy throat is unmarked, possibly indicating production in the US. The spike blade is securely retained. Please examine the photographs carefully for the best description of contents and condition.
