Description: This is a rare Floating Survival Light from WW2 (never been issued), possibly as early as 1940 (Battle of Britain() and would have been issued to pilots and crew members in case of ditching. This is extremely rare as after 80 years it is still in near mint condition except for the small spot of light surface rust on the embossed crown. This small rust spot can be neutralised and left "as is" being original patina of 80 years of storage or removed completely. I had a several of these which I've sold over the past 30 years but this is the very last one and it is still wrapped with some of the original tissue paper.Due to the passing of 80 years the rubber insulation on the wiring will no doubt be hardened and very brittle and fragile however I have no doubt it will still work as I tested one several years ago and it worked fineIt takes a modern 1.5 volt D cell battery (not supplied)
