Description: Original WW2 RAF / ARMY map entitled "EDIRNE" featuring the GREEK, BULGARIAN & TURKISH BORDERS. EDIRNE is in Turkey, but the map is actually part of the British War Office's "Bulgaria" series 'GSGS 4412'. Printed in March 1944, at a time when Bulgaria was at War with Britain and the USA. Scale 1:250,000 In very good condition. From a large collection recently sold off by Edinburgh University - hence ink stamping to margin. (Following both World Wars, the government distributed excess stocks of Allied maps, along with captured enemy examples, to various national institutions such as libraries, museums, universities etc.) Will be shipped as per its existing fold lines.
