Description: Wing Chun (Ving Tsun) Kuen Kuit This collectors edition is a must-have for every Wing Chun enthusiast. Its both a work of art and a storehouse of Wing Chun knowledge as taught by Grandmaster Moy Yat to his student, Moy Wo Tin. There are approximately 51 delicately carved stones created by Moy Yat represented in this book, detailing the history, philosophy, and hidden teachings of the Wing Chun system. The words Kuen Kuit translate to martial art idioms or teachings. There is also a section listing the Si Jo (originators of the system) right up to Yip Man and Moy Yat. Not only will you learn fundamental teachings of the Wing Chun system, but you will also be able to appreciate the artistic masterpiece Moy Yat created in carving these stones. One Kuen Kuit illustrates the pure logic of Wing Chung thinking: Others walk the bow, I walk the string. Meaning while others may use circular techniques, the Wing Chun practitioner uses techniques that go on a straight line - directly to the target - thereby conserving energy and arriving sooner. This is the third, and possibly final, printing of the Wing Chun Kuen Kuit by 14 Publishing Company, Moy Wo Tin. About the Author Moy Yat was born in Toi Shan, in the province of Canton. In 1953, his family moved to Hong Kong, where he had the good fortune to study Wing Chun Kung Fu under Yip Man. He was a very close follower of the venerable teacher, being a frequent companion as well as a dedicated student. After the death of his beloved seifu, Moy Yat moved to New York in 1973 and established himself as a leader of the Wing Chun system, eventually creating a network of Wing Chun schools across America, and internationally. While Moy Yat passed away in 1999, his legacy lives on in his students and numerous works of art.
