Many residential window sills have drywall cutouts or other decorative trim work near the outer corners (shown in the 2nd listing photo). These protectors do not have cutouts to conform to such trimwork. Measuring only the area directly in front of the glass window will help ensure that you do not purchase a width that is too wide to fit in between any such trim work. Make sure to choose a width that is as close to the interior portion of your window sill without going over. For example, if your "inside-of-any-trimwork" window sill area is 38 inches (38") wide, then our 35 1/2 inch (35.5") width would be the closest width without going over. Next, determine the DEPTH -- see the 3rd picture in this listing. This is the area of your window sill from your glass window going out toward you in the room. Make sure to choose a depth that is as close to your window sill without going over. For example, if your window sill is 5 1/2 inches deep (5.5") , then our 5 1/4 inch (5.25") deep size would be the closest without going over.
