(The production opened May 31st, 1945 and closed after only 52 performances.) ..... A spoof of GILBERT and SULLIVAN's "H.M.S. Pinafore", the musical starred WILLIAM GAXTON and VICTOR MOORE (who earlier had starred together in Cole Porter's "Anything Goes" and "Leave It To Me!", Irving Berlin's "Louisiana Purchase" and the Pulitzer Prize winning George and Ira Gershwin musical "Of Thee I Sing") and featured SHIRLEY BOOTH, ANNAMARY DICKEY, VIOLA ESSEN, GILBERT RUSSELL, GEORGE RASELY, MARY WICKES, RUSS BROWN and the LYN MURRAY SINGERS .....
