Description: William Adams Fern Flow Blue Oval Serving Platter 16 1/2" AntiqueFern pattern with W Adams back stamp mark and impressed with W Adams, Tunstall.William Adams was reputed to be Josiah Wedgwood's favorite pupil. He operated the Greengate Works in Tunstall between 1789 and 1805. I have seen the Fern pattern and this mark attributed to the 1790's but also heard claims this mark had been used in the 1860's. It is a very rare early blue blue and tough to get more information on it. 16 1/2" L x 13" WMade in EnglandVery good condition. Excellent for age.
