The wax can help protect your skin from the seasonal elements. Paraffin wax is a great moisturizer, producing a waterproof coating over your skin. Oils produced by your body get trapped, resulting in soothing and healing dry, cracked skin. When the wax is cooled, dead skin is pulled away resulting in smoother skin. There is a good reason why salons charge so much for hot wax treatments. Because it works and works well. However why spend all that money when you can get the same results at home for a fraction of the price. The second great use (and why I use it) for WaxWel paraffin wax is for heat therapy to help alleviate joint pain and stiffness. Do you wake up in the morning and need to do the "hot water treatment" to get your hands and fingers moving like they should. It works but ends up drying out your skin leading to cracking (especially in the winter) that no amount of lotion seems to fix. Changing to a hot wax treatment is more effective plus no more watching all that hot water going down the drain every day. Your hands are going to love a switch to a hot wax treatment. Not only going to make your hands feel better as it is more effective than just holding your hands under hot water but you get the added benefit of improving the condition of your skin rather than drying it out. Less pain and stiffness plus the added bonus of a hot wax salon treatment. Two birds with one stone and all that. Speaking from experience your hands are going to seriously love this stuff. I keep mentioning hands as that is my personal experience with using the wax. However I do know that others have had reported good results using it for foot pain as well. A couple things to consider before hitting the buy button and starting those at home salon treatments. You should only use this wax in an approved heater as they are designed to make sure the wax does not get too hot. I do not have one for sale but they are fairly cheap and last quite awhile. I have had mine for three plus years and it is still going strong. Also you should replace your wax occasionally as it does collect dead skin cells. Washing your hands well before each use is never a bad idea. I replace mine every three months or so on average. In the winter every two months and maybe up to four or so when the weather is warmer as I use it more when the weather is colder. If you are using it for your feet as some people do you probably should change the wax out more often. ***** Very Important Information***** You ABSOLUTELY need to use a wax heater purposely designed for you sticking your hands, feet, or other body parts into heated wax.
