Description: You are bidding on a rare, original French press photo of Charlie Chaplin dressed and posing as magician and hypnotist Walford Bodie. Chaplin imitated the infamous Bodie on stage in 1906, but this is a later print. A nicer detailed reproduction than found in most magic history books, or Chaplin biographies. You can find the exact, but less detailed image on page 136 of Ricky Jay's book, "Learned Pigs & Fireproof Women." Measuring 10x8 inches and undated, it includes penciled notes for layout staff, perhaps from a newspaper, on the rear. Minor wear as to be expected and tanning to photo edges.
