Description: This Antique Wade & Butcher Sheffield England 6/8" Celebrated Extra Hollow Straight Razor is in good condition overall but shows expected signs of age and use. The razor is clearly marked by Wade & Butcher of Sheffield, England and the blade is etched with "The Celebrated Extra Hollow Ground Razor." From spine to cutting edge, the blade measures almost exactly 6/8". The blade edge is clean for it's age however there is a small area of pitting present. The patch of pitting appears to be mild and looks as if it could be worked out but the razor has been left exactly as found. The steel is clean overall but light staining can be noticed. The blade opens smoothly and sufficient tension holds it in place. No "wobble" or "play" can be detected. The black grip scales show expected evidence of age but are free from any cracks or other serious damage. Also included with this razor is a period box with what appears to be the name of a previous owner inscribed in ink on it. The box is in good condition overall and also includes the hallmark of a London manufacturer or retailer but sadly it is difficult to read clearly.
