Description: WW1 - WW2 Australian 5th Military District marked M1907, 1918 dated, Lithgow bayonet with scabbard & leather frog. A good example with worn blued metal features, including steel pommel stamped A8128 with working release button, worn brown wooden grips and muzzle ring metal guard stamped 5th M.D. 10863. A 43cm steel blade in fine condition, showing MA manufacturers stamp and issue dated 1918. Scabbard of leather and metal, the body stamped LITH 1918, with WW2 issue round frog stud holding in place the orange tan leather frog, maker DENZIL DON 1941 and issued stamped, with a holed drilled at top for hanging. Overall bayonet in scabbard length 58cm, bayonet in very good condition. A scarce example, covering use during both world wars and inter war period.All original.
