ITEM DESCRIPTION: Here is an Absolutely Gorgeous, Rare & Large Antique/Vintage Circa 1910’s-early 1920’s Art Deco Color Collotype Print untitled of a ‘Tropical Island Paradise’, after the original painting by the artist whose name looks like ‘W. Renauld’ (Unknown, 19th-20th C.), whose printed signature appears lower left in the image area. ‘Copyright Moderner Kunst-Verlag GmbH Berlin’, as appears hand written in blue pen & ink lower right in the outer margin area just beneath the image, and whose hand written in blue pen copyright ‘©’, appears lower right in the image corner (tough to see). The Print is on a nice medium-heavier weight ivory-colored wove paper stock, and is in Excellent Rare+ condition for its antique/vintage age with Absolutely No Color Fade! Gorgeous Rich & Vibrant Color! This Print has been in a drawer amongst other prints & lithos since it was purchased by the Meibohm family and hasn’t seen the light of day in all this time-it’s as beautiful as the day it was printed and is as ‘mint’ as any collector could hope to find in its original never-framed condition. The size with wide margins is 26-1/16” x 41-5/16”, Image size is 23-7/16” x 39-5/16”. There is only one tiny 1/2” outer margin edge tear on left edge (lower-left) which is completely negligible since the outer margins can easily be matted and framed out, and is repaired from behind with archival tape for protection. No real damage at all in the image area, with the tiny negligible exceptions of extremely minimal very slight small crescent creases here & there in the image area which aren’t really even noticeable at all (except from behind), and a few very slight & tiny various colored printing ink-offset specks & some tiny thin offset-lines here & there which were done at the time of printing, and aren’t really that noticeable either and certainly don’t detract from the piece at all. Extremely minimal tiny & faint foxing specks scattered here & there on the sheet (none really noticeable at all in image area) and also aren’t worth mentioning. Other minimal slight small crescent-creasing here & there in the outer margin areas, along a few outer margin edges and some small ones in a few of the outer margin corners, as well as a few surface nicks, dents & a handful of tiny pin-prick holes (lower left) in the outer margin area—note: all margin issues are completely negligible since the outer margins can easily be trimmed off or matted & framed out. Minimal slight normal toning of the stock from age which is only slightly noticeable in the outer margins. Minimal slight outer margin edge wear with a few dents & dings here & there—also negligible. This gorgeous antique/vintage color collotype print has never been framed which is always more desirable to collectors since it has never been exposed to older non-archival materials, matburn or lightfade.
