Description: The Home Craftsman Magazine - "The Magazine for the Practical Home-Owner" I wasn't able to find the history of this magazine, but the earliest issue I have is March/April 1944. According to the masthead in this 1944 edition, it was the 13th volume, second issue. I'm guessing, therefore, that the magazine's initial publication began in 1931. The issues I have are from 1944 to the early 1950s. They are not complete sets. These magazines are showing their age. Some pages are stuck together (although they come apart without tearing), there are some covers that have come loose on some and there are folds and tears in others. But considering that these magazines are between 50 and 80 years old, they are a treasure trove of ads, articles and home projects! They are still legible. These magazines belonged to my father, who died in 1978. He and his father built a home (a split level, Spanish style home) in the 1940s and my father did much of the wood working. They sold the home to people we knew and when I grew up I was able to see the home and was given a box of magazines that he had left and they had kept in the basement all those years!! Some of the magazines I'm listing were those very ones and others were ones that he kept and I found when cleaning out my parent's home. It's time to pass these along to others to enjoy. SPECIFIC CONDITION OF THIS ISSUE: Staining on the cover and first few pages from dampness; general discoloration due to age; musty smell; Tear in the bottom right corner of Cover. See Photos.
