Description: VTG Sterling Watch Band Cuff Heavy Gauge Kingman Turquoise Navajo E. Gruber This is an astounding, large, heavy gauge watch band cuff from the 1970s or 1980s. The cuff was crafted using a heavier gauge sterling silver. The band tapers slightly, and has a fan theme to it. The placement of the time piece connector is offset from the center. On the biased side, the artist set five gorgeous oval turquoise stones that are surrounded with textured silver dots and twisted silver wire. Finally, the band was added accents with wonderful cut out patterns. According to the former store owner, the turquoise cabochons were sourced from the Kingman Mine in northwestern Arizona. They definitely have the appearance of turquoise that was sold from that mine in the 1970s and 1980s. The width of the band tapers from 1 3/4" to 1 3/8". The turquoise stones are graduated in size, from about 1" by 7/16" to 7/16" by 1/4". The watch face connector plate is 3/4" wide, and the watch face area is about 1 1/4" across. The inner circumference is 5 7/8" with an additional 1 5/8" wrist gap. It will fit up to a 7 1/2" wrist. It weighs an impressive 97 g. The artist's hallmark is "EG" for noted Navajo silversmith Edison Gruber, who started creating jewelry in the early 1970s. This watch band is new old stock, a piece coming from prior store inventory.
