The classes quickly grew and it was decided a larger and heavier sled was needed to stop the faster tractors, so the club soon purchased the Heartbreaker 2 sled. It was renamed to Big Clyde and was used for the next several years. A four wheel drive truck and 9300 lb. super farm class were soon added which also grew quickly.At the end of the 2002 pulling season the pullers of the hot rods, trucks, and diesel tractors decided to start a separate club, and on December 1st, 2002, the Middle Tennessee Pullers Association (MTPA) was founded. The MTPA began putting on several pulls across Tennessee in April of 2003 and continued to grow rapidly with several more classes being added over the years.In 2013 the MTPA voted to incorporate and became a Limited Liability Corporation.The MTPA continues to put on pulls throughout Tennessee and the southeast region.
