Description: Vintage Margaret Kane Framed Art Lithograph Poster Board Big Eyes Creepy Kids 1972 Measures 24 3/4 inches long by 18 3/8 inches wide. Portrait format. Condition: Pre-owned. Vintage Margaret framed poster sized art lithograph print on board from 1972. Not to be confused with Margaret Keane's work. Kane also painted big eyed children in entirely creepy inappropriate embraces. This train wreck nightmare of my generation can be all yours. Not originally meant to be be odd or kitsch, these have not aged well subject-wise. However, they are very collectible these days for their vintage quirkiness. It's boldy signed and dated (as part of the print) by Margaret Kane. This print features a platinum blond boy and girl kissing on the lips under the wisteria. They are holding hands and the boy has flowers in his hands and the girl has flowers in her hair. They are dressed in denim and white. The background is soft blue and they just kinda blend into the painting. Brother/sister? 3-year-old neighbors? It's honestly something straight out of JC Andrews' "Flowers in the Attic" This is not one of Kane's more seen images, thus this print is fairly rare. I could not find another one listed or sold. The litho is done on a textured heavy cardboard sheet. It is in a gold metal frame (no glass, just the frame). There is a cardboard backing that's sandwiched between the frame and the litho board. It's not in bad shape overall. The print may have faded some, but it's really hard to tell. I don't see any sun damaged areas. The metal clips holding the cardboard to the back have a little bit of surface rust on them. There's some creases and areas where the cardboard was broken when pushed into the frame. Looks like it's original to the time period and not damage. Either way, it's hidden on the back. The front of the litho is fine with no marks. So, if you dare please do to add this to your crazy art collection of creepy kids and big eyed children. The sooner, the better so I can get it out of my house.
