Description: This is one of the larger Hakata with the more detailed face. I believe this one to be very rare, as I inherited some of these figures from my grandparents, who were stationed in Japan after WWII, I have collected them for years, and I have never seen another like this one and can find nothing on it. I have absolutely no idea why the elderly man, who appears to be in a grain field, is holding the child up by his head or ears. Maybe he is just holding his ears closed due to noise? No idea, would love to hear any theories on it. No breaks or repaired damage, however there are a few specks of missing paint on the back, please see photos. I have not cleaned or touched up this figure. Thank you
