Description: Beautiful Miss JoAnn of California vintage cream or ivory colored fitted knit maxi. Chain-stitched lacy edging of the same yarn at neck, armholes and hem. No date is available but I would guess mid-1970s based on the style and fabric feel. The knit has a slight sheen and is fairly substantial, with a total dress weight of just over 2 pounds. There is only a mild amount of stretchiness in the fabric.It could be worn casually but due to the sheen, you may like it better as a dressier item or even an informal bridal gown.This dress has a lovely construction beginning with a gored effect in the skirt. Two seams on the front and two on the back gradually bring in the width of the skirt from the hem to the waist. At waist level, those seams taper away into the knit and the bodice is fitted with side seams and the stretch of the knit alone. No horizontal waist seam. Very pretty and flows well.There is no fabric contents tag, but the care tag specifies that this is a hand-wash only item. This dress has a tag size of 12 but that is a vintage size. I would call it a modern size 4 with maybe a little forgiveness in the waist and hip due to the cut.
