VTG (1930’s) HANDMADE, WALNUT & BRICK VENEER, ELECTRIC FIREPLACE (NONWORKING)

Description: Original family ownership offering – a beautiful, vintage (1930’s), handmade, walnut w/brick veneer front and large base tile veneer, nonworking, electric fireplace. CONDITION: VERY GOOD. Manufacturer is not known. There is a manufacturer’s mark “0602” on the inside back cavity (see photographs). The original electrical parts are intact, being enclosed in the never-opened wood casement box. There are two (2) original electrical chords extending out from the base of the wood casement box. The fireplace’s construction remains tight and sturdy in its original, unaltered condition. The walnut mantel front and walnut sides remain very clean and attractive. They have retained their original bright, rich walnut finish with minimal, minor marks. There is no chipping, fading, cracking, discoloration or staining on their surfaces. The red base tile veneer pieces are all intact with no loosing of the pieces. The inside wood backing, casement and cavity are in very good, clean condition. The fireplace was purchased in the mid-1930’s by owner’s parents. For decades, the fireplace was a beautiful piece located in the family’s country kitchen. The fireplace’s solid, VG CONDITION makes it a realistic candidate for restoration by knowledgeable parties. As an alternative to a restoration with new electrical parts, the fireplace would be a decorative amenity to any living room, kitchen, study or finished basement area. Adding decorative firewood (white birch on fireplace grate), covering the opening façade with classic black or other colors’ screens, adding string light filled lanterns within the fireplace opening, piling up firewood withn the opening for an inviting, homey feel or placing large decorative piece (s) within the opening – these are suggestions from House Beautiful magazine.
