I will need your zip code to quote a combined shipping cost. 5 day auction—This auction is for the 1958 version of American Character’s ‘Pony Pals’ complete outfit for their popular 8” Betsy McCall doll. The most commonly found scarf found with the 1958 version of the ‘Pony Pals’ outfit is a fucia (darker pink) color. This variation of the outfit has a light pink scarf! In the many years that I have been watching eBay sales, I have seen only 2 sales with the light pink scarf (the socks and shoes were missing on both). The outfit in this auction is complete and in Excellent to Very Good condition. You will receive:-- jodhpurs - top: clean creamy white fabric with no holes, tears, stains or missing stitches (keep reading to see the note about a snap); snaps are still shiny – felt pants: also have no holes, tears, stains or missing stitches and a shiny snap – amazingly, there is only one loose stitch at the bottom of the sewn crease on one pants leg—the other leg’s crease has no loose stitches (amazing because the ‘creases’ were never backstitched to lock the stitching) – I added a few stitches to tighten the top half of the top snap – I would call this in Excellent condition-- vest – clean and fuzzy/soft with tight, shiny snap; ‘brass’ studs that are still shiny with only a few light scratches that don’t dull their shine – no missing stitches in the side seams – Excellent– sheer scarf – rare light pink color – ends are not frayed or torn – the few small snags and one tiny hole are not seen with the fabric rolled up as it is– Very Good-- socks – This set is no longer a bright white, but have not yellowed (try soaking in Biz or OxyClean. There are no holes, runs or missing stitches.– The stitching at the top hems may have darkened a little – Excellent-- shoes – This pair still has their knobs. – Both shoes have a teeny split in the buttonhole of the strap – if you run your fingernail over the base of the stem of each knob, you will feel how it has just begun to come away from the shoe - I do not button the shoes any more to ensure the integrity of these 65-year-old items! – Very Good for being played with. PRICING NOTE: I have been diligently recording the eBay selling prices for Betsy items for about 24 years. As I mentioned above, there have not been any complete 1958 ‘Pony Pals’ with light pink scarves listed. The average selling price for the 2 partial outfits with jodhpurs, vest and a pink scarf is $40.50 and the highest price this complete these specific items sold for is $51.00. I used these prices and the condition of each piece of this outfit—to determine the beginning bid price of this auction. *** This very nice outfit came to me through eBay. I have a smoke free home and I do not smell unpleasant odors on it, but I cannot guarantee what environment it came from.
