Description: Vintage UKAI 27 x 1¼” Road Clincher Wheel Set with SUNASHINE Hubs Up for sale is a mid 1970’s vintage set of UKAI road clincher wheels. UKAI 27 x 1¼” single-wall rims with chromed finish. Rims measure 23.1mm wide with an interior width of 16.3mm, (applying the Sheldon Brown general guideline that the tire width should be between 1.45 and 2.00 the inner rim width would mean these rims are suitable to tires of between 24mm and 33mm in width). SUNSHINE medium-flanged alloy hubs have been cleaned and greased with front cones and dust seals replaced – ready for years of service. Standard 1.370” x 24TPI English freewheel thread and spacing compatible with 6/7-speed road. Wheels have been professionally trued with nice clean braking surfaces. A few light marks and signs of normal use and a bit of oxidation pitting in the chrome finish, please see pictures. Sale includes front quick release.
