It stores in a silver metal tube with screw top that is 6.25" long. The metal pocket clip is engraved with "Taylor Instrument Companies Ashville N.C. U.S.A." Both the thermometer and protective tube are in excellent condition. There is NO SEPARATION in the thermal liquid! The original cardboard tube is included, but most of the labels have worn off.
