VINTAGE SELMER Bb CLARINET - RARE FULL BOEHM 1929 RADIO IMPROVED for RESTORATION

Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list!This listing is for a vintage Selmer (Paris) Bb soprano clarinet. The serial number is K9385, indicating a c.1929 production date. It is a rare "full Boehm" version of the Radio Improved model. This clarinet has a longer lower joint to accommodate key-work down to low Eb. It has multiple other additional keys, linkages, and adjustment points that allow for a variety of alternate fingerings within the normal range of the instrument. This instrument is made of grenadilla wood.This instrument is being sold as is for restoration. It is not currently in playing condition and will probably require a full overhaul to be made playable. The lower joint and barrel are free of cracks. The upper joint has had a couple of cracks pinned. The repair appears solid; however, a better job could have been done of disguising where the pins were installed. This could surely be improved upon, although it is simply a cosmetic issue. There is a minor crack in the bell that is being held tight by the rings. The tenons are free of chips. The tenon and bell flare rings are all tight. The keys are all moving freely and rebounding properly. There is no noticeable wear to the nickel. It has dulled with age but should polish back to a nice luster. The pads actually don't look all that bad, but I think most players would prefer to just have a full overhaul done. One of the tenon corks has shredded off, and the others are compressed. There is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories included, and this instrument does not come in a case.Please feel free to message me with any questions. Thanks again for looking!
