Description: Rare ceramic teapot by Sadler of England, circa 1940's: Length from handle to spout is 9 1/2". The teapot is 6" high to top of bow handle on lid and 3 3/4" wide from front to back. Barrel shape sides. Cream-white color. One side has a color illustration named 'Off To Widecombe Fair' depicting seven men on a horse,with a textured gold color oval shape framing the scene. On the other side is a color illustration of mapped areas of Devon England with atextured gold oval shape around the edge. Molded backstamp 'Sadler England' on bottom of foot of teapot. Hand painted gold gilded handle, pouring lip, and tied bow handle on lid. It makes a fabulous unique vase for cut flowers and stems!In reasonable pre-owned condition with no stains or restoration. There are multiple tiny dark dots under the glaze, from manufacture. A few minute nibbles on the edge of the inside rim where the lid rests. Some variance in the application of the gold color edging, with some wearon the gold on the handle. A bit of crazing on one corner of the lid consistent with age (last photo). 413300 Pink Tag RBA
