Description: This vintage, addition and subtraction, math game is adorable! I used it, in my kindergarten classroom, during Math Centers. My students absolutely loved it! It is in very good condition, considering how long I have had it! One card was mended with transparent tape, as it was bent in the middle. I enclosed a close-up picture of this. Other than than, this game is in great shape! This item is clean and comes from a smoke free home. This game was made by Ravensburger in 1993. It won a "Parents' Choice Award"! The game is for ages 5-7 and for 1-4 players. It is a self-correcting adding and subtracting game. The contents, of the game, include the following.: 24 sturdy cardboard problem cards (red), 24 sturdy cardboard answer cards (blue), 1 red number die, and 1 set of game rules. The object of the game is to match the problem cards with the answer cards. The first player to match all his/her cards in the winner! To set up the game, the blue answer cards are spread out within reach of all the players. The red problem cards are then dealt equally to the players. On a player's turn, he/she rolls the die. The number that shows up, on the die, is the answer to a problem. The player looks at all his/her problem cards to see if the number, on the die, is the answer to one of them. If the number, on the die, is not the answer to any of the player's problem cards, his/her turn is over. And, it is the next player's turn. Each player rolls the die only once on his/her turn. If a player thinks he/she has the right problem card for that answer, he/she looks at the answer cards and finds one with the same number. The player then puts the problem card and the answer card together, one on top of the other. Then, the player turns the pair of cards over. If a player has chosen the right cards, there will be a complete picture on the back. The player places this card set face up in front of him/her. His/her turn is then over. If the picture, on the back of the two cards, is not complete, the player did not choose the correct cards. The player keeps the red problem card and puts the blue answer card back on the table with the other answer cards. The player's turn is over, and the turn passes to the next player. The game is over when one player has completed pairs for all of his/her problem cards. That player is the winner. The directions also include a variation for solitary play. This is a nice option if children prefer to play the game by themselves or have nobody else to play with. As a former educator, I purchased many Ravensburger games. They are extremely well-made, are high quality, and children really enjoy playing them! I would highly recommend them to both teachers and parents! This game would make a wonderful addition to a kindergarten or 1st grade classroom! It would also be great to have in a household with young children! I am hoping to find it a good home.
