Description: Just one of inkFrog's Creations Description: Vintage Rare Chim Sterling Opening Factory Charm Monkey Wrench in the Works This is such a great charm, and one that would have some scratching their heads to figure out, if not familiar with the old idiom, "spanner in the works," or the American version "monkey wrench in the works." I believe the saying originated when low paid factory workers would toss a monkey wrench into the industrial machinery in order to get a break. Interestingly, I read that some French factory workers threw their clogs, called "sabots" into the industrial machinery, which became the origin for the word "sabotage." The term "spanner in the works," or "monkey wrench in the works" means sabotage, dilemma, or obstacle that impedes progress. The charm, made by Chim, is cleverly modeled as a factory with the sign on the front reading "WORKS." The charm is incredibly detailed to resemble a real factory, complete with smokestack! Inside the charm is a spanner or monkey wrench. This is a very scarce charm which rarely surfaces. The condition is good with secure closure. It measures 5/8 of an inch by 1/2 of an inch, and is stamped CHIM to the reverse. It is made of .925 sterling silver. Please scroll down to the next pane to review shipping terms. Welcome!
