Description: Here is a set of 21 quilt blocks in the Virginia Reel pattern, #1339b in the Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns by Barbara Brackman. Design is categorized as a Four Patch block with specific construction so named by the Workbasket magazine. Pattern is also known as Zig Zag from the Comfort magazine. Blocks are hand pieced using vintage cotton fabrics generally from the 1950s era possibly including some feedsack material. These measure approximately 10 1/4" square. Please note, the piecing does not allow for the retention of some triangle points when using a standard 1/4" seam allowance. These are generally clean.
