Description: Vintage Propaganda Postcard Museum quality item (one exists in Musees de Reims) https://musees-reims.fr/oeuvre/n-ecoutez-pas-les-mauvais-bruits DESCRIPTION: Rectangular postcard on which is fixed on the back by a metal eyelet, a cardboard disc with several characters. Two male faces facing and side by side are visible in the center of the front of the postcard. The one on the left, skeletal, with a waxy complexion, with a bald head, has marked features and a closed face. The one on the right, on the contrary, represents a man with a round, chubby and smiling face, rosy cheekbones, slightly bald, covering his ears with his index fingers. These two faces are framed on either side by captions. A window opening on the disk attached to the postcard is visible on the left edge of the latter. By rotating the disc, we see the portrait, full face and bust, of seven caricatured characters. The first called "The Junker" represents an old German man, with a greenish complexion wearing a white mustache and a spiked helmet on which the silhouette of a Prussian eagle can be guessed. The second, "The Turk", presents a man with a long nose and frowning eyebrows who seem to be whispering. Then, “The Spy” shows the face of a red-haired woman wearing two braids wearing a black headband hiding part of her face. Smiling toothily, she points her index finger to her mouth. “Hindenburg”, on the other hand, presents the face of a rotund man with a mustache wearing a spiked helmet. He seems to be screaming. The fifth character named “Von Boche” represents a rectangular-faced man with a sly and mocking air. Then, following, "Germania", the personification of the German nation, is drawn in profile with the features of an almost masculine face, with a long nose, marked features and a greenish complexion. Seeming to scream, she wears a pair of glasses as well as a spiked helmet from which falls a braid of red hair. Finally, the last and seventh protagonist "Herr Doktor" represents a man with a bald head, pinkish skin, wearing glasses and wearing a white bow tie. Barely smiling, he points his index finger up. Finally, a text in capital letters in black ink is printed on the back of the disc. with pinkish skin, wearing glasses and wearing a white bow tie. Barely smiling, he points his index finger up.
