Description: For sale here is this stunning vintage illustration of OWLET MOTHS (NOCTUIDAE)circa 1956. This beautifully illustrated print is of Owlet moths. It shows three members of this family, the broad bordered yelow underwing (Agrotis fimbriae) the herald moth (Scoliopteryx libatrix) and the large European yellow underwing (Agrotis pronuba). It is Printed on good quality card, originally this print was part of a series of 100 + educational school cards on insects they came in a box folder and were intended to be passed around the classroom as part of a lesson. There is a description on the back of the card in German. luckily for us it has spent its 50+ years in a box in a dark cupboard in a school so its condition is A1 perfect. It has been mounted on black card (not glued only held with corned tabs) and placed inside a plastic sleeve for protection.framed on its own or as a set of three/four/six it would bring a lot of style to any room in the house.
