Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE VINTAGE PORTRAIT CON YEAGER ADVERTISING TIN TIP TRAY WOMAN BEAUTY COSHOCTON OHIO This lithographed advertising tin tip tray was most likely made by one of the Coshocton, Ohio makers of such things, like Meek or American Art Works. This one has no identifying markings that I can see other than the advertisement “FROM YOUR OLD FRIEND, CON YEAGER”, on the front outer rim – see the photos. The advertising on this piece refers to the Con Yeager Spice Company, which was founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1928. If you would like to learn more about this company, which is still in business today, there is information located at the conyeagerspice website. The woman pictured on the tin is beautiful, but unnamed and undoubtedly copied from an original Angel Asti painting. Asti was an Italian artist who painted many similar female portraits that have been heavily reproduced. He lived from 1847 -1903. I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color. I want your transaction with me to be exactly the way I want mine to be when I am the buyer. Age and Condition Circa 1930s. I would call this tin as being in good to very good condition. I believe there is a grading system for these tins but I am unfamiliar with it. Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item. There is some of the expected “alligatoring” to the portrait area and front rim but I see none on the obverse. There are a few minor scuffs/chips/blemishes to the front of the tray – see the close-up photos. There are some small chips to the paint on the outer rim. The obverse has only a very few minor scuffs/chips/blemishes but I do see a minor amount of rust where the outer rim is rolled over - see the close-up photos. I have owned the tray since 1998, but have never tried to clean or restore the finish. I see no dents to the metal. Overall, a very nice tip tray in great condition. Please keep in mind that the photos you are viewing can be blown up 5X or 10X larger than normal, so anything you see in these photos will be 5X or 10X larger than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece. It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo. Approximate Dimensions About 4.25” (10.8 cm) in diameter and sits about .25” (.6 cm) off the table. Approximate Weight About 1.125 ounce (32 grams).
