Description: This sale features a 1934-A $10.00 “North Africa” Silver Certificate.During World War II, the government issued currency with a yellow seal for North Africa distribution (and currency with a brown seal for Hawai’i distribution). The idea was that if either of these areas fell into enemy hands during the war, the money could be easily identified and cancelled so as to prevent large monetary losses. The Pictures shown - serial number A 97834917 A - are of the exact item you will receive. This note from the popular North Africa version of the 1934-A series has light rounding and wear on all 4 corners. There are 3 heavy vertical creases, a heavy horizontal crease through the middle, and lesser creases, folds, and wrinkles scattered throughout. The bill is discolored from its use over the years, with extra reddish staining noted on and above the back horizontal crease. The top and bottom edges are rough with numerous small notches; none of these extend into the printed area. Beyond these imperfections, you have a decent old bill from a very popular series, with no holes, tears, or missing pieces. The bill is well-protected in a plastic sleeve in which it will be surrounded by cardboard for extra protection and shipped FREE by USPS First Class Mail. Good Luck and happy bidding!
