Description: Up for sale here is a pair of vintage Nettleton Longwing dress shoes, also known as Gunboats. For those who don’t know, Nettleton was an old American shoemaker based in Syracuse, NY. In there hey day, their quality rivaled Alden, with their slogan being “America’s slowest made shoe”…or something like that. These things are absolute tanks, and could probably be worn very easily in the snow. They could use a reheeling, but otherwise the condition is spectacular for a used shoe. It just goes to show the quality of the make. I believe these shoes are at least from the Late 70s, Early 80s. The 80s was when the factory closed shop. The company has been bought and sold a few times since, and are still around today. These babies are the real deal though. Perfect for any menswear aficionado, shoe nerd, or cool guy.
