For marketing purposes, I often use dolls, props, accessories, etc. that are not part of the current listing. I will always mention if these items are not for sale here or will be offered in other listings Two 1970s Ken fashions are being offered, Best Buy #3378 "Western Winner" from 1972 and the Get Ups N Go fashion #7706 "Suit Up for Safari and Adventure" from 1974. The Best Buy fashion has the l/s camp shirt, matching belt, striped pants, and brown cowboy boots. The shirt is clean; belt has fraying at end (see photos). While most of the cotton Mattel used in Barbie and friends clothing was sturdy, the striped cotton used in the pants seems prone to being particularly brittle; the pants have splits that occurred when I bent the doll's legs. There is also some staining on the front to the right of the fly. As usual, the elastic in the waistband is stretched out. The GUAG camping/safari set is the later variation with only two pockets on the camp shirt and a modified back pack--apparently this ensemble was more costly than most, and Mattel had to make some quick modifications to bring everything under budget. The backpack is present, as is the belt. Trying to get the belt (which doesn't unfasten) up over the camp shirt was a bridge too far; if there is a trick to doing it, I don't know it. Also included is the VHTF yellow neckerchief/scarf, which I don't think has been unfurled--I know I didn't when I put it on the Ken doll. The flannel sleeping back (made from the same material used for the skirt in the "Long 'N' Fringey" set) is missing. The Kens went camping with several Barbies, and their trip in the Country Camper is shown in several of the pictures. The dolls, the shoes on the girl dolls, and the camper are not for sale, but their outfits are (the clothes on the Malibu and Ballerina Barbies are legitimate outfits, but the clothes on the Living Barbie are a few things I had on hand that looked suitably camping-ready; I'll post them in a listing if anyone is interested.) Nice set of Ken clothing that displays well. NOTICEPayment expected promptly through PayPal. Life happens and hurdles can slow us down, so contact me if you have a true emergency and cannot pay.
