Description: Vintage Japanese Bronze KoroShishi Phoenix 獅子 鳳凰Incense BurnerCirca: Showa, 1950s and earlierH 5 in. (14cm), W 5.5 in. (23cm), D 4 in. (10cm)Excellent condition!A vintage Japanese bronze koro originates in the tradition of ancient Chinese libation vessels. The finely cast tripod censer is layered with hand-chased reliefs, illuminated by a stunning shishi lion finial on the top, with a variant of eloquent motifs on the side wall, and guarded by two phoenixes flanking outward for handles. The tripod koro is graciously proportioned and glistens with a luscious aged patina. It appears well used, with the residue of incense ashes on the inside. It is a wonderful gift for any Buddhist practitioner.*Authenticity Guaranteed. BuddhaMuseum specializes in temples and family-worshipped Buddhist arts.
