DESCRIPTION OF ITEM ---this is a vintage brochure, picked up, date stamped and put away, VERY CLEAN AND NICE.Picked up: Apr 19, 1975-----as stamped or written on the brochure( and may have the location it was picked up also) from the amazing "White Mountain Collection" from the collector Kennett Neily, you may have heard of his amazing comics, well I got a lot of his other stuff, original art, travel brochures, comics, books, magazines, zines, VHS tapes, etc. most of his items are known for being date stamped (or written) the day he purchased them and left in clean (mostly unused) condition. i am listing all the items separately, as the condition is unbelievable, if there is any wear it is light and as shown. WOW WHY HAVE HIS COMICS SOLD FOR SO MUCH MONEY: CONDITION, CONDITION, CONDITION--and look at these books, WOW... In 1984 a man approached Jerry Weist, owner of "The Million Year Picnic" comic shop in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with a small sampling of comics from his collection. This initial meeting was the hobby's introduction to what is now referred to as the White Mountain Collection. Few collections of Silver Age books approach the consistently high level of condition and page quality that White Mountain copies possess. Weist would eventually become the organizer for Sotheby's comic book and comic art auctions. In that capacity, he introduced the collecting world to this fabulous discovery, offering choice samplings in Sotheby's 1991, 1993 and 1996 auctions. Many collectors are still not aware that the collection's large body of Silver Age publications also included a small sampling of choice, early Underground Comix. It should also be said that most collectors have yet to grasp the significance of that inclusion. For most Silver Age collectors, the UG's are the forgotten books of the period, and this is a serious omission on their part.
