To me, it is in excellent vintage condition, meaning gently worn and well taken care of - wear consistent with age. My opinion is that you will be quite happy with them necklace. The coral beads add to the vintage elegance of it. This is not a new necklace. From my experience as a kin in the 70s with a Puka necklace, we wore them ALL THE TIME! Bring made of shells, there are naturally imperfections, perhaps chips, wear, pointy parts of shells that bring out the natural characteristics of a genuine vintage Puka necklace. I did not clean the necklace as I know some folks like patina so it is up to the discretion of the buyer to decide on polishing and cleaning. I certainly didn’t want to take a chance damaging the necklace with today’s harsh chemicals. For weight and metal purity I rely on the results of my Fusion scale and the common Puri Test Acid tests. Prior to wearing, please get the item checked out, serviced or repaired by a professional as I can not be held responsible for how any item, clasp, stones, gems, chain, string, findings, etc. will hold up with any sort of wear.
