Lorenz Bolz has produced traditional toys since 1880. They first produced hand pressed zinc spinning tops trademarked with the Bavarian Trade Register. In 1907 Peter Bolz assumed the leadership of the company. In the year 1913 the first drill top entered the market, also an invention of the Bolz company. Under Bolz’ guidance the musical spinning top was invented. Six to eight vocal organs create the amazing spinning top sounds. In 1937 they advanced to a scale up to 20 tones in the top – the birth of the choral spinning top.
