Description: Vintage Flour Sack Dress Handmade Costume Native American. This is an incredibly unique piece of what I would call textile art. It is a dress that I think is supposed to depict a native American girl and was likely made for a play or costume party. It is made of a flower sack cotton with yarn and rick rack details added and fringe along the bottom. There are symbols along the bottom edge that are reminiscent of native American figures, and it is handmade. This dress would not be politically correct in today’s times, but at nearly 100 years ago this would’ve been appropriate to the time period. I believe this is more of a collector's piece, and not a piece for wearing, although you could wear it. it has no major rips or tears, but there is staining throughout. I have not tried to wash this piece although you might gently be able to remove some of this discoloration and staining. Additionally, some of the yarn details are coming loose as they were originally glued on. Please see the pictures for the full description.
