Description: See Photos. Copper on steel engraving is approx. 3 7/8" x 4 7/8". Has an "I.S.E.U." mark. The International Stereotypers & Electrotypers Union existed between 1902-1973. Plate weighs between two and three pounds. In very good condition. Printer letter block and plate engravings are fantastic art pieces that can be framed. Plate was created for the Universal Bulb Co. The owner, Mr. Cronquist, was an importer of bulbs and seeds from Europe from the 1920s to the 1970s. He started his business in New York, moved to Gastonia, NC, and then retired here in Chapel Hill, NC. Early on, the company hired an engraver to create steel, brass, copper and wood print blocks and plates for the packaging of products as well as to make seed, bulb, and floral catalogs. At the end of his career he wrote for the USDA NRCS (Natural Resources Conservation Service). Seller Lot #1807-22.Listed shipping costs are for the lower 48 (USA) states.
