Description: Very unique antique quilt with embroidered floral blocks checkerboarded with hand quilted blocks. It is embroidered 1930 on one of the blocks, see photos, so I am not sure if that was when the embroidery was done or when the quilt was completed. It measures 74"x70". It was very dirty when I bought it, but it had a soak in the bath tub and line dried, so it is extremely clean. No stains, holes, gaping seams or odor., and the quilted blocks still had the pencil marks, so it may have been the first time it has been washed! The embroidered blocks blocks have no batting or quilting, so I think this may be an early edition of a quilt-as-you go quilt. Backing is muslin, also in great condition. Note: A very nice gentleman pointed out to me that this is a pattern by Ruby McKim, who had several series of patterns published in newspapers throughout the '20's and '30's, and this series is called Floral Garden.
