Description: ORIGINAL DOUG ANDERSON (b 1954) 'MET A STRANGER ON A TRAIN #2' LIMITED EDITION WOODCUT PRINT This is a great piece. I recently bought a collection of woodblock prints done by well listed 20th Century artist Doug Anderson. For those not familiar with the artist, I have included his biography below. I am offering 3 different woodblock prints from what seems to be a series the artist did titled "Met a Stranger on a Train" Wonderful expressionist works that seem quite rare as the edition on these is incredibly low. This one is signed, titled and numbered 5/30 in pencil along the bottom margin. This is a large woodcut on paper measuring 37 3/4 x 28 inches. Excellent clean condition with original deckled edges. A few very minor handling marks but nothing too bad at all. Print is unframed. Really a wonderful example of this c1980s Expressionist work. I have found one example of this print having been acquired by MIT. Do your own research on this artist and his prints. They are scarce and dont come to market very often.
