The blade is spotted on one side (this saw had been sitting on a workbench in a garage for years with the side with the spots up - I can only assume that the debris that had accumulated on the blade caused the spotting. I have gave the handle and blade a gentle yet thorough cleaning, but I did not take any restorative actions.
