Description: Vintage Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Playing Cards This deck differs from tarot, which normally has 72 cards, in that it does not include the 22 Major Aracana cards. In a time when tarot was occult (underground,) due to religoius suppression, playing cards were used to tell fortunes, and these cards have the meanings, then known only to the gypsies, printed upon them. Complete set of 55 cards, Approx. 3.75 x 2.75" The box shows signs in wear, but is intact. The set includes the original Instructions, & advertisement card, all in mint condition (like most of my mother's collection of tarot cards, they seem to have gone unused). The colors are vibrant, cards unblemished. I cannot establish a date, but am guessing '60s to '70, also like most of her collection, and the fact that the ad cards lists most decks at 75ยข This deck comes from a large collection of apparently unused tarot decks found while organizing my recently deceased mother's belongings, so there are (or shortly will be) many other decks listed in like condition, most include boxes & manuals.
