Vintage BARBIE 2009 REPRO ENCHANTED EVENING in JAPANESE EXCL COLOR, STOLE

Description: I am pleased to offer this unique OOAK spin on Mattel's lovely Enchanted Evening gown. This 2009 REPRODUCTION gown was in nice condition but nothing super special, so I decided to give it new life by transforming it to a color reminiscent of a rare vintage Japanese Exclusive variation, a reddish pink somewhere between magenta and cerise depending on lighting. Note: The color of this shiny polyester fabric was hard to photograph -- in bright light (as in my pics) it is a brighter cherry, and in normal room light (as when you open your package) is a richer, reddish rose. I tried another camera but it was even pinker with it. I love all of those shades -- but if you only will like one particular shade in that color family, you might be disappointed with the color in your display lighting so better to pass. I removed the pale pink rose at the hip for dyeing and then re-attached it. The original tight folding of the train (unique to this repro, not how Mattel did the vintage train) did not survive the cleaning/dyeing/pressing process -- on the positive side, Mattel made the dimensions of the train on this reproduction version much closer to the original vintage gown than the 1990s repro; it is long and wide and you can arrange as you like. It has a repro tag and metal snaps (unlike the plastic snaps on the 1990s repro). I got the snaps closed on my model but had to pull the bodice tight to do so. Fabric is nice with a couple of small slubs on the surface on the back side. Note that the white stitching did not take the dye and peeks out a little on the bodice darts (zoom in on fourth pic).
